Clinic Receptionist is responsible for greeting and registering patients as they enter the admitting ward of a hospital or clinic. Provides phone, clerical, and data entry support including insurance verification. Being a Clinic Receptionist directs patients, visitors, and callers to appropriate parties and answers basic questions. Requires a high school diploma. Additionally, Clinic Receptionist typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Clinic Receptionist possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Working Conditions
Because the nursing home provides round-the clock care, working hours may include days, nights, weekends and holidays. A Receptionist works in a climate controlled and well-lighted environment with a smoke-free policy. Works in an office and walks throughout the building daily. Has a low risk of exposure to infectious diseases, but receives training in handwashing practices and has access to personal protective equipment if direct exposure is anticipated. Is subject to interruptions, noise, and odors daily.
