Clinic Receptionist is responsible for greeting and registering patients as they enter the admitting ward of a hospital or clinic. Provides phone, clerical, and data entry support including insurance verification. Being a Clinic Receptionist directs patients, visitors, and callers to appropriate parties and answers basic questions. Requires a high school diploma. Additionally, Clinic Receptionist typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Clinic Receptionist possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Answers the telephone in a professional manner; directs calls to appropriate individuals, and/or takes messages.
May fax and photocopy information as needed.
Maintains current resident / patient and staff directories
May accept job applications and forwards to appropriate department.
Announces emergency codes and instructions over public address system as required.
Assists Residents, family members, and others with inquiries regarding Resident and facility information.
ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
Exceptional customer service skills and telephone etiquette.
