Clinical Administrative Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of an assigned unit or clinic section within a hospital. Schedules employee shifts and ensures admitting and discharge functions are providing for optimal patient flow. Being a Clinical Administrative Coordinator ensures that hospital resources are being used in the most efficient manner. Assigns patients to appropriate health practitioners. Additionally, Clinical Administrative Coordinator may perform other administrative functions as necessary. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. To be a Clinical Administrative Coordinator typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience.     This is for a full-time (40 hours/week) Telecommute position. The hours are Monday through Friday are 7:00 am to 7:00 pm an 8-hour shift to be determined by the hiring manager. No nights or Weekends.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Manage administrative intake of members
    • Work with hospitals, clinics, facilities and the clinical team to manage requests for services from members and/or providers
    • Process incoming and outgoing referrals, and prior authorizations, including intake, notification and census roles
    • Assist the clinical staff with setting up documents/triage cases for Clinical Coverage Review
    • Handle resolution/inquiries from members and/or providers
    • Performs other duties as assigned

    Required Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma / GED (or higher) OR 4 years of healthcare customer service experience
    • Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Word (ability to create, copy, edit, send and save documents), Microsoft Excel (create, edit, save documents) and Microsoft
    • 1 year of customer service or healthcare related experience
    • Reside in the state of Colorado
    • Reside in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high - speed internet connection or leverage an existing high - speed internet service
    • Access to a designated quiet workspace in your home (separated from non-workspace areas) with the ability to secure Protected Health Information (PHI)

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Prior work at home experience
    • Experience working within the health care Industry and with health care insurance
    • Experience working in a hospital, physician's office or medical clinic setting
    • Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT codes
    • Experience working in a call center

    • Demonstrated ability to work well with health care providers 
    • Strong organizational and time management skills 
    • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to meet all deadlines 
    • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment 
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely, conveying information in a manner that others can understand, as well as ability to understand and interpret information from others
