Clinical Administrative Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of an assigned unit or clinic section within a hospital. Schedules employee shifts and ensures admitting and discharge functions are providing for optimal patient flow. Being a Clinical Administrative Coordinator ensures that hospital resources are being used in the most efficient manner. Assigns patients to appropriate health practitioners. Additionally, Clinical Administrative Coordinator may perform other administrative functions as necessary. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. To be a Clinical Administrative Coordinator typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience. Represents hospital administration and clinical management in their absence. Demonstrates clinical leadership to improve patient care and nursing practice. Serves as a clinical resource for nursing by providing clinical expertise and by teaching in informal settings.
Job Specifications:
Required Education: Graduate from an accredited, state-approved, school of nursing.
Preferred Education: BS degree in Nursing.
Required Licensure: Current MS RN license or temporary permit for same (valid for 90 days only).
Preferred Licensure: N/A
Required Experience: Five years of clinical RN experience.
Preferred Experience: N/A
Required Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: Abilities to instruct using adult learning methods. Knowledge of hospital operations, Principles of Supervision, Management, and Communication. Ability to communicate effectively; skill in decision-making. Ability to problem solve for patients with complicated disorders. Ability to interpret physicians' instruction. Practices using standard nursing principles, practices and procedures.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: ACLS certification. Computer skills and keyboarding. Ability to use Microsoft Applications.
