Job Responsibilities:
1. Assess patient symptoms and determine appropriate medical care.
2. Schedule emergency or same-day appointments based on telephone assessments.
3. Answer general medical questions.
4. Provide lab test results and physician recommendations to patients.
5. Communicate patient information to physicians and follow up on recommendations.
6. Document all telephone conversations related to patient assessment and management.
7. Work independently and collaborate with healthcare professionals.
8. Review charts and lab results, monitor patient progress, and take necessary action.
9. Monitor resources and staff to ensure efficient patient flow.
10. Respond to medical emergencies and delegate tasks to team members.
11. Assess patient's clinical status and modify treatment plans as necessary.
12. Administer IV medication as ordered.
13. Schedule tests and procedures as directed by physicians.
14. Obtain prior authorizations and phone in prescriptions.
15. Initiate homecare referrals and coordinate with home care nurse agencies.
16. Maintain knowledge of healthcare standards and ensure equipment is operational.
17. Practice effective team building, delegation, and communication skills.
18. Attend staff meetings and participate in staff development.
19. Assist with staff orientation and scheduling.
20. Perform other duties as assigned.
