Clinical Data Specialist designs and maintains clinical quality databases. Queries databases, creates reports and analyzes data to comply with regulatory reporting requirements and support improvements in clinical effectiveness. Being a Clinical Data Specialist defines and tests new measures, validates data, and takes steps to automate and improve the data collection process. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Clinical Data Specialist typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Clinical Data Specialist gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Education Level required: Bachelor’s degree in relevant area such as statistics, math, or computer science or High School diploma (or equivalent) and specialized training or certificate.
Relevant experience required: 3-5 years of relevant experience. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics preferred.
Knowledge required: Ability to read, interpret, and verify data from multiple formats. Problem-solving skills, process improvement, and analysis skills. Must have meticulous approach to information verification. Excellent communication skills; proficient in MS Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Position expected to work onsite and/or remote consistent with NYS and ESD guidelines and needs.
