      Job Summary:
      This position is a District representative working within the Student Services Department to improve the District’s collection, reporting, and use of information related to school climate and supportive and engaging learning environments. This Specialist works directly with K-12 Teachers, Administrators, and Building Leaders to coordinate efforts throughout the district to develop and maintain information, resources, and training related to student data and differing learning environments. Responsibilities include leading efforts to develop and administer District-wide surveys that are designed to collect school climate and engagement data. The Data Analytics Specialist equips educators with the data-driven competencies that are required for implementing effective instructional practices within the D51 Teaching and Learning Framework and our Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS). Other responsibilities center around software updates and platform Administration in conjunction with the Instructional Technology Platforms Specialist including training for end users.

      Instructional Supports & Deliveries:
      The Data Analytics Specialist operates from a solution-oriented stance assisting the Student Services teams in designing a comprehensive district-wide strategic plan to support staff and administrators in the areas of school discipline, attendance, student mental health and well-being, and student, staff, and family perceptions of school climate. Employee works collaboratively to bring a high level of understanding to effective programming in conjunction with intervention and restorative practices to district staff and leaders. Responsibilities within this area include designing, developing, implementing, monitoring the effectiveness of and reporting of the District’s comprehensive District-wide surveys and Multi-Tiered Systems Supports for Behavior; components include but are not limited to:
      • Leading efforts to develop easily accessible, user-friendly school climate and engagement reports and profiles for each school:
        • Engaging with a variety of departments within the district, and school leaders, to inform implementation of relevant and related strategies;
        • Supporting updates to current data collection on school discipline, school attendance, student mental health and well-being, and student, staff, and family perception of school climate and potential recommendations for the District’s Instructional Leadership Team concerning any additional data to be collected and reported
        • Coordinating efforts throughout the district to develop and maintain information, resources, and training related to student learning environments.
        • As the Administrator of MTSS software, Assessment, and other data collection platforms, the Analytics Specialist oversees applicable software updates, access protocols, and training for end users.
      • Determining metrics to be included in school climate and engagement reports and profiles, in consultation with key District stakeholders, including members of the District’s Instructional Leadership Team and other District leaders who have a vested interest in project outcomes and outputs:
        • Developing measures of student engagement, measures of school climate and culture, student and staff wellness, and student and staff perception of learning conditions and learning environments;
        • Working with a variety of types of data including discipline, behavior, attendance, climate surveys, mental health and well-being surveys, and other topics.
        • Working as a liaison between Technology, Assessment, and Teacher Learning Communities to bring forward current standards and best practices, and information resources pertaining to the collection and reporting of discipline, attendance, and other relevant data;
        • Designing reports that highlight relevant and actionable insights; and support schools in organizing their collection and use of critical data.
      • Developing a collaborative network of connections that can help provide behavior and academic supports;
        • Collaborating across different departments within the District to support alignment of collections and support understanding and use of collected data, including but not limited to the: Special Education Department, the Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education Department, the Gifted and Talented Department, Migrant Education Program, and Attendance, MTSS and Prevention Services;
        • Developing and maintaining knowledge of research, tools, strategies, and policy efforts to measure and improve school climate and engaged learning environments for students, including by consulting with federal and state organizations with expertise on measuring and improving school climate and engagement;
        • Participating in and presenting materials to District committees whose work aligns to and would benefits from improving the District’s collection, reporting, and use of information related to school climate and supportive and engaging learning environments.
      • Responding to teacher, school, parent, and community needs including informal requests regarding policies, procedures, to meet school climate data needs for reporting, use case, policy, and statute requirements.
        • In consultation with key District stakeholders, train administrative and school staff on how to access, interpret, and use reports and profiles.
        • Coordinate with the District’s Technology and Assessment departments to assist with data reporting and collection timelines for school climate and engagement data, in alignment with federal and state data privacy laws.
        • Sharing research, information and or resources (articles, materials, etc.) for teachers that align to D51 Teaching and Learning Framework.

      Qualifications:
      • Must have or be eligible for Colorado Teaching License
      • Bachelor’s degree in education, plus additional coursework in analytics, technology, or other qualified content area) *
      • Minimum of five years’ experience in Classroom Teacher role; preference for training and experience with data analytics and /or Interventions and supports;
      • Preference for demonstrated knowledge and experience working with district systems and structures and assisting teachers in developing support systems;
      • Attend and successfully complete all staff development training as required by state law or as directed by their Supervisor.

      Working Conditions:
      227 days/year

      Salary & Benefits:
      Teacher Base Pay Salary Schedule Range:
      $46,743 - $97,600 based on one (1) FTE at one hundred eighty eight (188) days.

      Hiring Range for External Candidates:
      $46,743 - $80,240
      • Teachers are initially placed according to experience. Teachers new to the District may be granted up to 15 years of experience, provided the experience occurred within the last 20 years in accordance with the MVEA Agreement.
