Job Summary
Job Summary: Job incumbent assists the clinical support managers in both Fairbanks and sub-regional locations with clinical staff operations including room management/utilization, onboarding and training of all clinical support staff and MA practicum students.
Adhere to the TCC Ch’eghwtsen’ model of service and guiding principle which requires providing timely and effective service along with the ability to interact with others in a way that inspires trust and demonstrates respect, compassion and empathy.
Essential Functions
Essential Functions: This list is ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by incumbent(s).
Representative Duties: Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Support Manager job incumbent:
1. Responsible for all onboarding of new clinical support staff both in Fairbanks and sub-regional locations. (Sub-regional staff will be brought to Fairbanks for onboarding).
2. Responsible for training of new staff and competency check-offs prior to release to teams.
3. Evaluate employee performance (annually with Team Leads) and gauge where skills need improvement.
4. Create training programs and prepare any learning materials needed.
5. Will manage all exam room utilization to the highest capacity, including daily usage as well as set up and maintenance.
6. Works with Clinical Support Manager and Clinical Staff Office and team leads to ensure village visits are occurring as required and that village visits are well-coordinated.
7. Works with Health Education Manager to ensure student rotations are effectively managed.
8. Assist Health Education Manager with the Medical Assistant Intern program, to include placement of interns in various departments, coaching mentors, assessment of competencies.
9. Assist Clinical Support Manager with provider schedules.10. When needed, work on the floor in a float position.

1. Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Certified Medical Assistant; minimum 5 years’ experience in a clinical practice and 3 years in an IHS facility.
2. Extensive knowledge of various teaching methods.
3. Proficiency with Microsoft Word.
4. Must pass background check pursuant to federal Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act requirements.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Strong verbal, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
2. Athena Electronic Health Record experience preferred.
3. Strong organizational skills 4. Excellent communication skills.
Supervision: This position may have supervisory responsibilities.

Physical demands: Position is mostly sedentary. Some standing, bending, lifting, pulling, and pushing when assisting with patient care. Must be able to work effectively in a busy, sometimes stressful environment.
