POSITION DESCRIPTION: Carroll College invites applications for the position of Principal Faculty – Director of Clinical Education (DCE) of the developing Physician Assistant Program. The DCE is a full-time, 12-month faculty appointment in the Physician Assistant Studies program with a rank commensurate with qualifications and experience. Faculty are strongly encouraged to maintain a part-time clinical practice. The DCE will report directly to the Physician Assistant Program Director.
Under the supervision of the Program Director and in collaboration with other members of the program faculty and staff, the DCE will provide oversight and direction in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the PA program’s clinical education curriculum that emphasizes achievement of program learning outcomes and competencies in compliance with the ARC-PA Standards. The DCE will develop and implement effective processes for the recruitment and retention of high-quality clinical rotation sites and the placement of student learners at these sites. The DCE will oversee the curricular aspects of the clinical phase of the program, including but not limited to development of course syllabi, learning outcomes, and assessments. In addition to the primary duties in the clinical phase of the program, the DCE will have some teaching responsibilities in the pre-clinical phase and participate in program and college administrative duties.
