Being a Clinical Ethicist develops institutional policies concerning ethical issues such as "do-not-resuscitate" and "withdrawal of life-support". Requires a master's degree or doctorate related to health ethics. Additionally, Clinical Ethicist typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. To be a Clinical Ethicist typically requires 4 to 7 years of related experience. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. The ideal Obstetrics Clinical Educator will have Labor and Delivery experience from an acute care facility. Experience as a charge nurse, unit supervisor, educator, or well-tenured Labor and Delivery RN will provide a strong background for a candidate looking to pursue this role. The Labor and Delivery educator will play a crucial role in training and guiding nurses to provide the highest level of patient care with the best in evidence-based practices. Additional job responsibilities include curriculum development, plan & supervising clinical rotations, offer guidance and mentorship to new nurses, and ensure regulatory requirements.
The Clinical Educator of Obstetrics will be joining a 200 patient bed, short term acute care, Joint Commission Accredited Hospital. This Clinical Educator will be joining a department that consists of a Level IV NICU, labor and delivery rooms, antepartum rooms, triage rooms, and post-partum rooms. The Labor and Delivery Nurse Educator will provide trainings for anywhere from 30-60 employees including Registered Nurses, Techs, and Support Staff and will report to the Manager of Women & Infant Services.
