Being a Clinical Ethicist develops institutional policies concerning ethical issues such as "do-not-resuscitate" and "withdrawal of life-support". Requires a master's degree or doctorate related to health ethics. Additionally, Clinical Ethicist typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. To be a Clinical Ethicist typically requires 4 to 7 years of related experience. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. The Director of Hospital Revenue Cycle will find that this commitment has earned the facility and care team several awards for patient care and recognition as a top quality medical center.

    Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Revenue Cycle Director will oversee the Patient Access / Registration Department, Revenue Cycle Operations, and the Collections Office. You will direct and delegate the responsibilities of the Accounting Manager and team that is in charge of Patient billing, collection, maintenance, and accounts receivable. Additionally, you will oversee the day-to-day operational effectiveness of the various business partners, including the Business Office Manager, auditing and improving processes where needed.

    From an operational point of view, the Director of the Revenue and Financial Cycle will work closely with the Director of Health Information Management to ensure the integrity of service and facility coding. The Director’s responsibility will follow each entry through billing, patient access and accounts, billing, and collections. You’ll also have the opportunity to make significant impacts on the customer service aspects of the organization, maintaining respect for the patient from start to finish.

    On the back-end, the Director of Revenue Cycle will oversee compliance and audit, both from in-house teams and third parties. The Director will play an exciting role in setting the financial and performance strategy, taking responsibility for developing KPIs around bad debt, denials, AR Days, etc. A successful Financial Cycle Director will approach this work with quality improvement in mind, promoting teamwork and shared triumph over individual mandate.
