Clinical Ethicist offers guidance to patients, their families, and professional staff on ethical, legal and policy issues and concerns stemming from clinical interactions between health care professionals and patients. Provides guidance to the institutional ethics committee pertaining to policy formulation and educational and case review activities. Being a Clinical Ethicist develops institutional policies concerning ethical issues such as "do-not-resuscitate" and "withdrawal of life-support". Requires a master's degree or doctorate related to health ethics. Additionally, Clinical Ethicist typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. To be a Clinical Ethicist typically requires 4 to 7 years of related experience. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Clinical Supervisor Job Responsibilities
- Fulfill Program Administrator role as outlined by North Carolina Administrative Code.
- Administer, score, and perform initial screening tests and evaluations.
- Provide supervision to clinical staff and coordinate patient care.
- Use ASAM criteria and acquired information to provide accurate least restrictive
- Select appropriate counseling methods to maximize patient outcomes.
- Remain current in general knowledge of psychotropic medications, side effects, and
- Assure documentation is completed in compliance with contract regulatory agency
- Evaluate treatment plans and service provided by others and update appropriately.
- Participate in and complete peer reviews, mid-year reviews, and end-of-year reviews.
- Provide interventions/treatments and utilize evidence-based therapy.
- Complete documentation within specified timeframe using our Electronic Medical
- Utilize crisis and de-escalation techniques.
- Attend required meetings including individual and group supervision, treatment team
