Clinical Facilities Planning Manager manages professional services for assigned projects concerning design, construction, development, or installation of hospital buildings and facilities. Oversees all aspects of construction including progress, timing, costs and contracts. Being a Clinical Facilities Planning Manager directs construction, equipment installation, renovation and redesigning projects. Works with hospital departments to ensure design changes, equipment specifications/substitutions, purchasing and accounting procedures are in alignment with business objectives. Additionally, Clinical Facilities Planning Manager develops and designs feasibility studies for review. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Clinical Facilities Planning Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Clinical Facilities Planning Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     What You’ll Do:
    Manage the process of assigning freight to tractors in a way that maximizes USX revenue and minimizes empty miles for a defined region or business unit.  Identify opportunities to provide transportation solutions services to address internal and external customer needs. 

    • Manage and direct the load assignment process for a region or business unit.
    • Manage a group of employees that assign freight to tractors.
    • Review profitability of assigned region or business unit. Implement processes to increase profitability.
    • Direct the activity of the department to ensure operation excellence in order to meet customer commitments.
    • Identify ways to minimize our cost while maximizing customer satisfaction.
    • Provide verbal and written performance feedback on a regular basis.
    • Develop metrics that measure individual planning effectiveness and performance.
    • Develop tools that will provide visibility to shortages and prioritize requirements.
    • Analyze and troubleshoot problems in planning and execution and generate alternatives to resolve both internal and external limitations.
    • Provide leadership and engage employees through effective communications, coaching, training and development.
    • Analyze reports and/or spreadsheets to identify where unutilized trucks are in comparison to freight and match loads to these trucks.
    • Present any load planning issues in daily operations meetings.
    • Advise fleet owners on areas that need trucks to meet freight requirements.
    • Identify lanes that can be set-up or that are not needed and advise when rates need to be adjusted.
    • Analyze operational reports and take action based on those reports.
    • Work closely with internal departments to locate freight and identify available lane options.
    • Develop freight service or freight improvements that address customer needs or increase customer value.
    • Mentor employees to foster learning and business process improvement
    • Develop and implement processes and work methods within the area of responsibility.
    • Assist with the gathering and analysis of data in order to find ways to minimize expenses while maximizing service

    What We’re Looking For:
    Education

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • College degree preferred
  •  

    Experience

    • Minimum of 3 years in load planning and fleet management, preferably with a TL operation required
    • AS400 experience

     

    Skills/Certifications

    • Analytical mind with strong problem solving and innovative thinking skills
    • Ability to analyze reports and take action based on the findings
    • Comprehensive knowledge of policies and regulations impacting trucking operations such as DOT - national and state
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Basic knowledge of U.S. geography
    • Calculation of transit times across multiple U.S. time zones.
    • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.

     

    Supervisory Responsibility: 2-5
