Communicates with providers and management to learn the organization's processes and priorities, and to provide takeaways in the most accessible and convenient way possible. Additionally, Clinical Informatics Coordinator typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Clinical Informatics Coordinator work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Clinical Informatics Specialist

    The Clinical Informatics Specialist will be an integral part of developing and maintaining the clinical operations informatics platforms.  These platforms include but may not be limited to: the electronic medical records system, wound tracking system, risk management portal, and the infection prevention and control platform.  This position will assist in bringing standardization and consistency to clinical operations through the development and management of electronic clinical documentation systems.   

     The ideal candidate is task-orientated, highly organized, and has the ability to prioritize tasks in accordance with regulatory requirements and company goals.  The ability to drive and project manage will be an integral component for this position.   This position will support a company-wide development approach that promotes an environment for continued learning and growth.  The ideal candidate should excel at time management and work efficiently.  Presenting may be required with varying sizes of learning groups.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Guide the development, deployment, and continuous assessment of ongoing electronic clinical documentation programs and the electronic medical record systems (ex. PointClickCare, WoundRounds) to support organizational needs and initiatives, regulatory requirements, quality measures, and survey trends. 
    • Operate the clinical informatics helpdesk process responding to level 2 and 3 requests.
      • Level 2 requests include and are not limited to training for existing tools, initiating third party system integrations, and completing system audits including recommendations for improved use.
      • Level 3 requests include and are not limited to the assessment and process development of new tools, user defined assessment (UDA) creation and revision, care plan and other documentation configurations.
    • Assist in liaising with the electronic medical records vendor regarding system errors, updates, and requests.
    • Assist with identifying gaps in work processes and/or system functionality that require education or communication. 
    • Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate education and communication about electronic clinical systems.
    • Work closely with the education and communications department on content for all relevant training materials for the clinical documentation tools. (i.e., PCC, portals within PCC, etc.)
    • Assist with developing position specific training programs and reference guides. 
    • Partner inside workgroups to outline the defined standard of care for the documentation platforms.
    • Adhere to HIPAA privacy and security requirements.
    • All other duties, as assigned.

    Qualifications and Skills: 

    • Requires the ability to relate positively, effectively, and independently with multi-generational guests, families and employees with a variety of backgrounds and communication levels.
    • Requires advanced analytical skills and ability to organize and deliver projects and training programs. 
    • Requires advanced computer skills and proficiency in all Office Suite products. 
    • Requires exceptional verbal, presentation and written communication skills. 
    • Also requires a high level of problem resolution and decision-making skills.
    • Ability to travel 10% throughout the region. 

    Education and Experience: 

    • Licensed nursing preferred or clinical degree with post-acute clinical care preferred.
    • 2-3 years of years of experience post-acute clinical care preferred. 
    • Experience with Point Click Care required. 
    • Preferred experience developing clinical informatics software and utilization. 
    • Time management and experience in training groups of all sizes is necessary
