• Responsible for providing clinical application support to all clinical end users at NTMC. Works to maximize utilization of our Clinical Information System, and to enable users to effectively fulfill their clinical objectives while improving patient safety and patient care delivery via the effective implementation of a comprehensive Electronic Medical Record. They are responsible for coordinating the completion of project assessments and assist with the development of education/training materials. This individual participates in the organization wide community for CPOE and works with their division peers to ensure clinical quality informatics applications are well supported throughout the facility
  • Understands all clinical systems being supported within the EHR, including the available technology and technical infrastructure necessary to support the applications.
  • Supports the various clinical systems by troubleshooting and resolving problems.
  • Participates in special projects as needed and performs other duties as assigned.
  • Provide system and operations expertise for implementation of process & system changes assists in developing testing plans as needed to ensure stability of the production environment.
  • Assists in documenting system functions and processes for the IT group, as well as selected items for other users.
  • Maintains committee minutes for MU/Promoting Interoperability.
  • Compile, analyze, and report clinical quality informatics data to drive quality and performance improvement
  • Serves as liaison between clinical departments and Information Technology
  • Assists with clinical systems back-ups, verification, and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Assists with planning and implementing new systems, upgrades, and patches.
  • Collaborates on budget preparation for the IT department and assists other Department Directors as requested.
  • Establishes and maintains strong relationships with the entire project team, clinical leaders, business leaders, IT&S leaders, and staff.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma required or GED
• Bachelor’s degree required, clinical degree preferred with strong healthcare facility
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of clinical experience in an acute care hospital setting.
• Minimum 2 years experience in Clinical/Healthcare Informatics, clinical applications support, or equivalent preferred.
• Must have previous experience facilitating large projects which includes implementation of health technology.
• Related certification preferred.
• General understanding of PC hardware/software
