SUMMARY OF POSITION :
This position for Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute will be responsible for inspecting ADM’s, troubleshooting technical pharmacy issues, and monitoring inventory levels to prevent stockouts and discrepancies. They will collaborate with the pharmacist to ensure accurate dispensing of medications and timely restocking of ADM’s.
Responsible to manage all aspects of the maintenance and upgrade of automated dispensing cabinet (ADC) and carousel technology as well as resources required. This position will also evaluate and optimize inventory stored in ADC and carousel to minimize expense. This includes serving as the primary contact from the Pharmacy with other departments such as anesthesia and nursing to plan and implement technology to meet patient care needs. This person also serves as the Pharmacy liaison with the vendor(s) for all issues related to ADC and carousels including project planning, service and upgrade of hardware and software.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates Degree or equivalent experience required.
3 years of Pharmacy Automation experience required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Working knowledge of computer operations.
WEB based applications and pharmacy information system tools and software required.
Effective oral and written communications skills required.
Ability to work independently, strong organizational skills and attention to detail required.
Proficiency using Microsoft Excel at an intermediate level required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous supervisory experience preferred.
Hospital Pharmacy Technician experience preferred.
