  • Position Summary:
    The Clinical Informatics Analyst (CIA) functions as the clinical expert, educator, consultant, leader and researcher for nursing/allied health information systems and assist with any and all areas of Information Systems that they are competent to assist with. The CIA is responsible for the planning, development, implementation, maintenance, evaluation and training of information system projects to improve the patient care process for stakeholders. The CIA will function as an internal consultant and resource to departmental personnel and will provide direction and education for all clinical information initiatives in accordance with the strategic objectives of the Department. The CIA will continually monitor and evaluate opportunities for technical innovations and enhancements, ensuring that the applications and systems utilized are consistent with professional standards of the best clinical practice. The CIA will interpret, modify, analyze and design clinical systems, data, and information as well as implement applications, tools, processes, and structures that assist with the management of data in patient care and provision of health care. Additional responsibilities include providing systems support including hardware maintenance, troubleshooting, component replacement and repair, system monitoring and the installation and maintenance of software. The CIA will identify, select and maintain equipment needed for utilization of the clinical systems, policy development and monitoring of process changes, operational/clinical committees in relation to clinical system design and manage complex interactions between applications being implemented and various patient care processes and workflows. The CIA will prepare training sessions and assist in making oral and written presentations to project teams and management. The CIA must be willing to coordinate alternate housing within the facility in advance of shifts when inclement weather potential threatens the ability to get to the facility. The CIA may be required to report back to work during any emergency situation i.e. mass casualty, internal disaster, etc.  The CIA will compete other duties as assigned.
     
    Qualifications

    Education:

    • Associate degree in Nursing required.
    • Bachelor’s degree in closely related field preferred.
    Experience:
    • A minimum of 2 years acute care hospital based experience required.
    • Minimum of 3 years Cerner/Oracle experience required.
    • Minimum of 3 years experience with build and maintenance of Oracle iView documentation, PowerPlans, PowerForms, PowerChart, and FirstNet required.
    Licensure/Certification/Registration:
    • Clinical Informatics Certificate by an accredited board (American Nurses Credentialing Center - ANCC) preferred.
    Special Skills:
    • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with professional colleagues, allied health professionals, physicians, department heads, and members of executive leadership required.
    • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Explorer and PowerPoint required.
    • Exemplary core customer service skills strongly required.
    • Strong organizational skills required.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
    • Knowledge of program development and administration preferred.
