Job Summary: />The Health Information Specialist I performs various medical record duties to assure the completeness, authenticity, and timeliness of the patient's records. /> />This candidate must be familiar with Electronic Health Records, web-based transcription systems, and electronic document/image systems in order to conduct an accurate and thorough chart analysis. /> />This position requires one to be detail oriented and have the ability to recognize deficiencies and inconsistencies. /> />Candidates must be familiar with HIPPA while evaluating a patient's chart. All things viewed in a patient's chart will remain confidential during the staff's analysis of a chart deficiency. /> />This position should be proficient in basic release of information guidelines set forth by Erlanger Health System, the state, and the federal government in order to correctly report the minimum amount of information necessary to assist those calling or walking-in to the department, and when faxing documentation for completion. /> />Education: />Required: />High school graduate or equivalent G.E.D.
