Clinical Information System Specialist provides on-site technical support to clinicians to ensure the proper and effective use of clinical information systems and improve the delivery of patient care. Assists users with system navigation, troubleshooting and patient monitoring issues. Being a Clinical Information System Specialist collaborates with leaders across functions and disciplines to plan, implement and evaluate the effectiveness of clinical systems and services. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Clinical Information System Specialist typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Clinical Information System Specialist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     Health Information Systems Administrator/Clinical Quality Analyst

     

     

    Full-time (40 Hours per week) 

     

    General Responsibility:  

    Analyzes and interprets applicable data to provide insight into and help drive quality improvement outcomes. Guides strategy and operations by providing recommendations regarding data, format, and accessibility of reports to maximize knowledge and decision making based on the information available.

     


    Significant Job Responsibilities:

    • Developing and creating reporting and data tools using a combination of methods to provide accurate meaningful information to assist in the overall goals of the Quality Improvement (QI)/Health Information Technology (HIT) department.
    • Manages and links data from multiple sources, examines data for trends, and generates meaningful reports for internal and external partners when needed.
    • Analysis, validation, testing methodology and logic of data in regards to created reports or otherwise to ensure quality, accuracy and to drive performance improvement.
    • Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems administration; including but not limited to user maintenance, file maintenance, upgrades, and template creation/modification.
    • Prepares monthly/annual summary reports, technical reports, evaluations, and assessments.
    • Exercises significant independence and initiative in the performance of responsibilities; receives general administrative direction.
    • Perform in-depth analysis of large data sets and provide reports, presentations, and recommendations to enhance patient care and reduce risk.
    • Develop and automate analytical tools and outputs that inform and give strategic insight.
    • Responsible for coordinating data requests and maintaining data-based integrity.
    • Maintain knowledge of healthcare industry trends related to quality and data management, performance improvement, patient safety, the relationship between reimbursement and performance, and the public reporting of clinical performance data.
    • Utilizes advanced data and statistical principles to develop, analyze complex systems and design reports, dashboards, charts, and models.
    • Provides analysis and develops questions/discussion points to aid in management decision-making.
    • Utilizes specialized software for statistical analysis and other unique applications and educates others in its use and interpretation
    • Presents data analyses that are understood by audiences at all levels of the organization.
    • Keeps skills and technical capabilities current.
    • Responsible for coordinating data requests and maintaining data-based integrity.
    • Works collaboratively with and support multi-departments efforts and projects

     

     

    Qualifications:  Bachelors’ Degree in health administration or another related field required. Or Minimum of two (2) years professional experience in Health Information Technology (HIT). Or, any combination of education and experience that shall be substantially equivalent to the above education and experience.  Working knowledge of NextGen Products preferred. Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Data visualization applications, SQL, Crystal Reports, SSRS, and related data analytics toolsets.  Ability to create queries and stored procedures.  Project management experience or certification preferred.
