Clinical Information Systems Director directs and coordinates implementation, design, and maintenance of clinical nursing information systems used to improve nursing operations. Conducts analysis to understand the needs of nursing staff and develop systems and strategy that supports and optimizes patient care and aligns with organizational objectives. Being a Clinical Information Systems Director researches and evaluates new technologies and tools used to provide new sources of data and streamline nursing practices. Plans the implementation, communication, and training for new technology deployments. Additionally, Clinical Information Systems Director requires a master's degree in nursing.   • Hometown Health is Hiring an Information Systems Coordinator. The IS Coordinator is an integral part of our operations and manages our Information Systems in coordination with contracted IT support and various vendors. Hometown Health Center (HHC) is a leader in healthcare, providing more than 32,000 medical, dental, and behavioral health visits per year to 6,200 patients. HHC is growing with a new state of the art facility currently under construction in Palmyra.     The IS Coordinator manages the Information Systems in coordination with contracted IT support and various vendors. The position manages the practice’s EMR in collaboration with EMR vendor and supports all modifications related to the EMR including, but not limited to, forms, development, interface development, custom lists, protocols interface development, handouts, and letters. Additional key duties and responsibilities include:

    • Managing third party technology in coordination with vendors including internet, phone systems, printers/copiers, lab printers, patient & staff screens, and kiosks,
    • Providing basic troubleshooting for software and technical issues in the medical and dental practice environment.
    • Serving as the local administrator on HHC owned laptops and PCs in collaboration with contracted IT support and maintaining inventory of hardware and software within HHC.
    • Managing staff account accesses through new hire account creation and account termination as well managing remote access VPN and mobile devices, ensuring staff are educated on appropriate access, policies and procedures.
    • Performing various duties in collaboration with our vendor including the System Administrator and File Maintenance areas of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) including staff training and ensuring proper set up to document clinical information in compliance with reporting requirements.
    • Assisting in the development, running, and auditing of recurring and specialized reports for management, providers, ACO, PCMH, UDS, Grants, and Pay for Performance program certification among others.
    • Co-managing annual SRA, HIPAA Security and Cybersecurity Trainings.
    • Managing the patient portal in collaboration with the EMR vendor.

    The ideal candidate will be skilled in examining and reengineering operations and procedures, formulating policies and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures. This position requires strong communication and organizational skills. In addition, the candidate must have the ability to gather and analyze statistical data and generate reports, knowledge of current standardized ICD-9, ICD-10 and CPT medical billing codes as well as knowledge of continuous quality improvement management principles and practices.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Evidence of training and experience related to information systems is required. An associate degree in computer science is preferred.
    • Minimum of 1-2 years of information system experience in the medical field.
