Clinical Information Systems Director directs and coordinates implementation, design, and maintenance of clinical nursing information systems used to improve nursing operations. Conducts analysis to understand the needs of nursing staff and develop systems and strategy that supports and optimizes patient care and aligns with organizational objectives. Being a Clinical Information Systems Director researches and evaluates new technologies and tools used to provide new sources of data and streamline nursing practices. Plans the implementation, communication, and training for new technology deployments. Additionally, Clinical Information Systems Director requires a master's degree in nursing. Requires Registered Nurse (RN) license. Typically reports to top management. The Clinical Information Systems Director manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments. The Pharm - Asst Director manages inpatient or outpatient pharmacies and pharmacy services.
The Pharm - Asst Director meets expense and revenue budgets, provides service leadership and meets customer service objectives; meets all applicable legal, regulatory and accreditation requirements.
The Pharm - Asst Director supervises pharmacy staff providing inpatient or outpatient services.
The Pharm - Asst Director serves as a liaison with other departments and provides oversight to the technology and automation involved in the medication management process. This position ensures the overall integrity, safety, rationality and effectiveness of the drug use control process for all patients in the assigned geographic or specialty area, including the following patient groups: Neonates, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, and Geriatrics.Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire: Current licensure as a Pharmacist with the Virginia State Board of Pharmacy Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment: Current licensure as a Pharmacist with the Virginia State Board of Pharmacy Experience REQUIRED: Minimum of one (1) year of pharmacy practice experience in a similar setting Previous experience with state of the art drug distribution, clinical service methods and pharmacy information systems/automation Experience PREFERRED: Five (5) years of pharmacy Experience PREFERRED: in a similar setting One (1) year of supervisory/management experience in a similar setting Previous experience and exposure to patient support programs (e.g. Ryan White, ADAP, VHCA 340B) Education/training REQUIRED: Bachelors of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited academic program Education/training PREFERRED: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from an accredited academic program Independent action(s) required: Provide leadership to meet staffing and service requirements. Respond to patient services and other managerial issues independently. Make hiring, disciplinary and performance review decisions. Supervisory responsibilities (if applicable): Ensures the provision and documentation of quality Pharmaceutical Care services that are customer focused and outcome oriented. Collaborates with other managers to develop, implement and assess pharmaceutical care activities within the pharmacy. Coordinates recruitment and orientation of all classified employees as well as the training and education of pharmacy staff. Supports staff development activities. Makes recommendations for development activities and programs. Develops competency-based assessment standards and ensures that they are met. Addresses performance issues as they occur. Additional position requirements: Must be available to work various days/shifts in order to manage operations and be available to staff.
