Clinical Information Systems Director directs and coordinates implementation, design, and maintenance of clinical nursing information systems used to improve nursing operations. Conducts analysis to understand the needs of nursing staff and develop systems and strategy that supports and optimizes patient care and aligns with organizational objectives. Being a Clinical Information Systems Director researches and evaluates new technologies and tools used to provide new sources of data and streamline nursing practices. Plans the implementation, communication, and training for new technology deployments. Additionally, Clinical Information Systems Director requires a master's degree in nursing. Requires Registered Nurse (RN) license. Typically reports to top management. The Clinical Information Systems Director manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments.     Under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer, the Director Information Technology IT and Operations will be responsible for leading and overseeing health data management, analytics, executive reporting, and delivering data-driven strategic operational recommendations. The Director of Operations and Information Technology IT will serve as a thought leader on the senior management team and works collaboratively with key stakeholders to ensure the organization has the technological resources necessary to achieve its goals of improving patient care.

    The Director of Information Technology IT and Operations will be responsible for monitoring and assessing new technology solutions that would enable scale and increased impact.  The Director of Information Technology IT and Operations will lead, engage and manage a high-performing team of technical and non-technical professionals that define, implement, operationalize and optimize complex services and solutions to support all healthcare initiatives.

    The Director of Information Technology IT and Operations will collaborate with partners and key stakeholders to construct meaningful HIT strategies to address current and future business needs while identifying appropriate metrics, and performance measurement systems utilizing accountability tools, scorecards and dashboards. Takes ownership for ensuring measurement of the value of healthcare information technology programs through technical and business metrics.

    The Director of Information Technology IT and Operations will direct hardware/software implementation, to include, installation, assessments, development, testing and implementation to support and advance integrated population health.  The Director of Operations and Information Technology IT will develop strategic, operational and technological solutions for improving quality, provider and patient experience and reducing cost.

    The ideal candidate for Director of Information Technology IT and Operations should have minimum 5 years director level leading teams of technical and non-technical individuals through complex projects and initiatives.  Strong understanding of contract and risk assessment, analytics and reporting necessary.  Solid experience handling, managing and analyzing healthcare data (i.e. EHR, HIE, claims, CCD/CCDA) and data aggregation.  Master's degree or equivalent education/experience in business administration, informatics, or computer.
