The Surgical Intensive Care Unit Clinical Nurse Specialist will be the clinical leader for the Surgical Intensive Care Unit for the hospital. The SICU CNS will have the advanced knowledge and skills required for this role including clinical expertise in a focus area, evidence-based practice, mentoring, consultation, collaboration, education, and transformational/change leadership that are essential to advance the practice of nursing and the professional development of nurses. The SICU CNS will work closely with the SICU Nurse Manager and Director as well as work alongside very reputable and well-respected physicians in the department.
Requirements for the SICU CNS position include Current NY State RN Licensure, CNS Certification, MSN Degree, 5 years recent clinical nursing experience in SICU setting, 2 years of teaching experience in classroom/clinical setting (with experience in staff development highly preferred), CCRN Certification, and ACLS certification.
