Clinical Nurse Specialist - Home Care assesses a homecare facility's nursing practice and its impact on patient outcomes. Provides clinical direction to nursing staff in the delivery of patient care programs. Being a Clinical Nurse Specialist - Home Care ensures nursing staff maintains an established level of clinical competency. Requires a master's degree. Additionally, Clinical Nurse Specialist - Home Care typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires certification as a registered nurse (RN). The Clinical Nurse Specialist - Home Care manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be a Clinical Nurse Specialist - Home Care typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
    • Must possess at a minimum an RN nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
    SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
    • Must possess a valid and current RN license in this state.
    • Referral from an existing staff member preferred.
    • Must be able to write the English language in a legible and understandable manner.
    • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
    • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, governmental agencies/personnel and the general public.
    • Must be a minimum of twenty (20) years of age.
    • Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations and guidelines that pertain to long-term care.
