Clinical Nurse Specialist serves as a clinical expert providing teaching, mentoring, consulting, research, and systems improvement in a specific practice area or with a specific patient population. Coordinates and guides clinical activities/projects of nurses within a practice area. Being a Clinical Nurse Specialist collaborates with members of the health care team to design and implement safe, cost-effective, and evidence-based care strategies. May require a master's degree in nursing. Additionally, Clinical Nurse Specialist requires Registered Nurse (RN) License. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Clinical Nurse Specialist manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Clinical Nurse Specialist typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     As the Long Term Acute Care Assistant Nurse Director you will be working in a medical center that has been recognized for its exceptional clinical quality, patient safety and service. This wellness and rehabilitation facility was recently accredited the Pinnacle Customer Experience Award. Specializing in memory support, rehabilitation therapy, post acute care the Assistant Nurse Director will have the opportunity to grow their experience and skills in a supportive and tight knit environment. 

    The Assistant Nurse Director will work in collaboration and be supported by a team of tenured supervisors and charge RN’s that will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the department. The LTAC Assistant Nurse Director will lead a close knit team of RN’s while working with other leaders to streamline methods to provide continuous high quality care for residents. 

    Within the 70 bed facility, the Long Term Acute Care Assistant Nurse Director will oversee every aspect of patient care and the facilities specialities such as respite care and supplementary care. The Assistant Director will also be responsible for the MDS compilation of the facility. This is a supportive and familial environment, for those with the most generous hearts. The Assistant Nurse Director will work alongside the experienced rehabilitation staff as well as highly motivated Physicians. This unique opening will also be very involved with Risk Management. The Director will be expected to complete the incident reports for this facility.
