CLINICAL NURSE SPECIALIST - 3E/MEDICAL SURGICAL/STEPDOWN
3E is a 32 bed step-down unit that has a variety of older adult patients, with a wide range of needs from ambulatory to complete care. Acuity of patients is generally moderate. They welcome new grads to their unit, and it is a great place to solidify nursing skills. No call or rotating shifts.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Clinical Nurse Specialist provides for the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care that is cost-effective and achieves optimal patient and organizational outcomes. The CNS provides ongoing support for the patient care team through coaching, mentoring, and education and fosters empowerment through knowledge to achieve excellence through the delivery of evidence-based nursing practice. In addition, the CNS will identify gaps in the delivery of nursing care, then work to design, implement, and evaluate interventions to drive practice changes to improve care. This person serves as a role model of professional behavior, the Clinical Nurse Specialist is instrumental in creating a professional nursing climate within Southwest General Health Center to meet the needs of the diverse units within the health center. Must be able to withstand physical activity which includes the ability to move or lift at least 50 pounds.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Master’s Degree in Nursing required.
Required length of experience:
Clinical Nurse Specialist with 1-3 years of experience in critical care, progressive care, or step-down care.
Required licensure, certification, and/or registry:
Current Ohio APRN license required. BLS and ACLS required.
