Clinical Outcomes Analyst collects clinical outcomes data and performs analysis in support of clinical process improvement initiatives. Gathers data on performance metrics to facilitate the review of program effectiveness. Being a Clinical Outcomes Analyst evaluates and summarizes patient data to ensure that care is provided in accordance with clinical guidelines and organizational standards. Identifies areas for improvement and communicates findings to leadership. Additionally, Clinical Outcomes Analyst requires a bachelor's degree in nursing or healthcare related area. May require a Registered Nurse (RN) license. Typically reports to a manager. The Clinical Outcomes Analyst work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Assists organization in planning for, selecting / developing, installing, and maintaining clinical information systems.
Utilizes the knowledge and skills of clinical practice to determine clinical functions that are suitable for computer applications to ensure they are consistent with professional standards of clinical practice.
Works collaboratively with all users of clinical information systems. Acts as a liaison between the clinical and technical staff.
Has full access to patient health information. May have access to medication storage areas (excluding controlled substances) as related to job responsibilities.
