Position Overview:
The Clinical IT Analyst (Ambulatory) troubleshoots, analyzes, develops, and maintains MEDITECH Expanse clinical applications and procedures. The Clinical IT Analyst (Ambulatory) focuses on supporting Ambulatory applications and is the key technical liaison to the Clinical Informatics group supporting the Hospital and Ancillary applications.
Essential Job Functions:
- Analyzes and assists in supporting MEDITECH Expanse Ambulatory, including testing and documentation. Supports other Ambulatory applications as applicable.
- Works with MEDITECH to support, upgrade and fix Expanse issues and enhancements
- Reviews, evaluates, and implements requests from end users including Providers.
- Provides in-service & assists with continuing education of software to users including Providers.
- Analyzes problems, determines cause & initiates corrective action as needed.
- Develops clear and concise documentation, instruction manuals.
- Maintains a high level of interaction with all clinical areas to continually enhance and improve patient care.
- Shares on-call duties with other staff within the Clinical Informatics and Information Systems Department.
- Coordinates and participates in both internal and external user group meetings as needed.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and supports Medical Center mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and/or Experience Required:
- Degree in Health Informatics or Health Care related field an asset; equivalent experience in healthcare, clinical application software can be substituted.
- Candidates should have at least three years of experience in supporting IT Applications and/or working in a clinical environment.
Additional Qualifications:
- Proficient and knowledgeable at building and maintaining MEDITECH Expanse.
- Experience troubleshooting issues in MEDITECH Expanse, including a general understanding of the dictionaries, interdependencies, and architecture.
- Understanding and experience with clinical information systems and advanced clinicals.
- Strong analytic skills, including problem identification and resolution.
- Ability to lead, facilitate and work effectively with diverse individuals and populations.
