Clinical Outcomes Director directs in-depth analysis of clinical outcomes data to develop clinical process improvement initiatives. Oversees and leads staff who gather data on performance metrics and facilitates the review of clinical program effectiveness. Being a Clinical Outcomes Director creates, defines, and implements performance metrics to review program effectiveness. Evaluates patient data to ensure that care is provided in accordance with clinical guidelines and organizational standards. Additionally, Clinical Outcomes Director identifies opportunities and provides recommendations to improve program delivery, patient outcomes, and operational efficiency. Requires a bachelor's degree in nursing or healthcare related area. May require a Registered Nurse (RN) license. Typically reports to senior management. The Clinical Outcomes Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Clinical Outcomes Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. The Clinical Director is responsible for the administration, planning, provision, and evaluation of all clinical services. Supervises all clinical staff, providing support, annual reviews, and identifying initial and on-going educational and training needs. Abides by and promotes established policies and procedures, agency objectives, performance improvement program, safety, environment of care, management of information and infection control standards. Serves as the agency’s compliance officer. Serves as a key member of the QAPI committee.
Functions under the general direction of and is responsible to the Chief Executive Officer. Supervises all clinical staff.
