Clinical Outcomes Director directs in-depth analysis of clinical outcomes data to develop clinical process improvement initiatives. Oversees and leads staff who gather data on performance metrics and facilitates the review of clinical program effectiveness. Being a Clinical Outcomes Director creates, defines, and implements performance metrics to review program effectiveness. Evaluates patient data to ensure that care is provided in accordance with clinical guidelines and organizational standards. Additionally, Clinical Outcomes Director identifies opportunities and provides recommendations to improve program delivery, patient outcomes, and operational efficiency. Requires a bachelor's degree in nursing or healthcare related area. May require a Registered Nurse (RN) license. Typically reports to senior management. The Clinical Outcomes Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Clinical Outcomes Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Clinical Director. This position is a leadership role and will directly manage the clinical and administrative staff of the center and work directly with the medical providers in coordinating patient care. Duties will include both clinical rotations and administrative duties. To direct and oversee daily activities of various clinical departments at the main office and satellite offices. Also oversees regulatory compliance and MIPS administration.
    The ideal candidate for this position is an RN with the following skill sets:

    Supervisory responsibilities
    This role oversees department, division, or organizational units. Responsible for planning, organizing, leading, and monitoring goals and objectives which have significant impact on clinical business outputs.
    Essential functions
    The following list is a summary of the key functions of the job and may not be inclusive of all duties assigned.
    • Applies accepted clinical nursing principles and practices to patient-care activities within the facilities.
    • Coordinates patient care activities with providers to provide continuity of patient care.
    • Participates in primary care of patients as needed and oversees clinical areas to verify that patient needs are met.
    • In collaboration with other administrative leaderships, develop strategic and operational plan for assigned clinical areas.
    • Enforce nursing practice standards and licensing/accreditation rules and regulations to provide quality patient care.
    • Evaluates the performance of all clinical personnel and works to continuously improve quality of care and services.
    • Coordinates provider schedules and adapts changes as necessary.
    • Analyzes clinical documentation to ensure facilities policies and procedures are being followed.
    • Serves as liaison between patients, families, and clinical staff to coordinate quality patient care.
    • Determine and recommend necessary space, equipment, supplies and support systems to ensure effective functioning of facilities.
    • Sensitivity for and understanding of clinical disciples and issues.
    • Coordinates and monitors operational activities for effective and efficient management of daily operations, reports, deficiencies to Directors.
    • Prepares provider schedules regarding time off requests and holidays.
    • Works with other managers to ensure correct inventory for providers.
    • Remains current on all applicable state and federal laws, rules, regulations and professional and accrediting-body standards.
    • Develops, interprets, and implements policies, procedures, regulations, programs and recommended practices to meet requirements of regulatory and accrediting organizations.
    • Reviews policies/procedures to ensure continues compliance with state, federal, and accrediting-body rules, regulations and standards.
    • Oversees and communicates regularly with satellite/partner locations to ensure attainment of established practices across all locations.
    • Informs and instructs physicians, optometrists, and other employees of new practices, procedures, products, services or changes.
    • Establishes, monitors, educates and administers the clinic’s MIPS program, including responsibility over goals, reporting, compliance, and adherence expectations.
    • Maintains patient confidentiality.

    Education and experience
    Educational requirements that are job-related and consistent with business necessity
    • Bachelor or higher degree in Nursing, and Master’s Degree preferred.
    • Five years of nursing experience is required, including at least 2-years of experience in management role.
    • Must have current RN license in the state of Michigan
    • BLS certification is required.
    • Ophthalmology experience strongly preferred.
