Gustavus Adolphus College is a leading private liberal arts college serving over 2,000 undergraduate students. The Assistant Director for Outcomes and Strategic Initiatives is a new role dedicated to creating and marketing diverse student and alumni career story profiles through various platforms. The position reports to the Executive Director. The individual in this role is principally charged with: (1) Implementation of a high-visibility, high-volume, on-going processes for gathering, creating, and marketing diverse student and alumni outcomes profiles; said process includes coordination through which a rapidly growing number of student and alumni career success stories are broadcast to stakeholders through various channels (routine reports, office website, and social media); (2) Supporting an operational priority to target regional, state, and/or national opportunities for recognition directly relevant to career services operations with the objective of enhancing the profile and reputation of the department; and (3) Oversight of the First Destination survey process for the operation. This role requires strong organizational and project management skills, including the ability to balance overlapping projects and priorities at times to meet targeted deadlines and/or goals. This position is a strong collaborative partner with the University Marketing and Communications office; including providing regular outcomes stories and as requested, department/operational information for targeted distribution to stakeholders.
The position actively supports operational initiatives involving diversity and inclusion as relevant to their role.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Directly supports the significant expansion of an on-going "career success story telling" protocol as regards Gustavus students and alumni.
- Works with supervisor to determine a feasible, multi-platform approach to disseminate student outcomes and as relevant, various department engagement and success metrics.
- Supports department strategic priority to enhance sustainable collaboration with key constituent groups including, but not limited to, Admissions, Advancement, Alumni Relations, Marketing, and faculty.
- Strategically supports the department goal of seeking external recognitions/awards/rankings.
- Works with Executive Director and Assistant Director for Career Advising Initiatives to ensure a regular pipeline of diverse student success stories is established.
- Supports department outreach efforts to continue growth of Gustavus Mentorship program.
- May supervise 1 or 2 part-time student workers on occasion to support selected outcome projects.
- Creating a digital student/outcomes "viewbook" of student and alumni career story profiles.
- Is a strong collaborative partner with the University Marketing and Communications office; includes providing regular outcomes stories and as requested, department/operational information for targeted distribution.
Prerequisites
MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2 years of prior professionally experience in marketing or related field.
- Demonstrated understanding and capability to undertake graphic design to create story profiles.
- Capability as regards effective use (including ability to assess) various social media tools.
- Demonstrated understanding and ability to effectively use digital resources.
- Familiarity with supporting the gathering of reporting on student outcome metrics.
- Capability and enthusiasm for ensuring targeted outcome deadlines and/or goals are met.
- Knowledgeable in MS office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Ability to write in a concise yet effective/engaging manner will be relevant to the role.
- Ability and enthusiasm for "brainstorming" with others and individually to reach objectives.
- Good time management skills.
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors Degree with 1 year of professionally relevant experience.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively utilize web tools (for example: HTML, CCS, Dreamweaver).
- Requisite skill set enabling creation of various professional-quality reports and relevant web site/social media content as directed.
