Clinical Outcomes Director directs in-depth analysis of clinical outcomes data to develop clinical process improvement initiatives. Oversees and leads staff who gather data on performance metrics and facilitates the review of clinical program effectiveness. Being a Clinical Outcomes Director creates, defines, and implements performance metrics to review program effectiveness. Evaluates patient data to ensure that care is provided in accordance with clinical guidelines and organizational standards. Additionally, Clinical Outcomes Director identifies opportunities and provides recommendations to improve program delivery, patient outcomes, and operational efficiency. Requires a bachelor's degree in nursing or healthcare related area. May require a Registered Nurse (RN) license. Typically reports to senior management. The Clinical Outcomes Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Clinical Outcomes Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     The Division of Division of Cardiovascular Diseases and Hypertension, Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School seeks to employ a Director of Quality and Outcomes.
    This position offers the opportunity for the potential faculty member to engage in research and join a team of cardiologists providing clinical cardiology services at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH) and at the academic practices of the medical school. As Director of Quality and Outcomes, the selected candidate will lead and give oversight to the Section. They will partner with the Provider Performance and Quality Improvement team regardingthe implementation of effective, ongoing programs to measure, monitor, assess, and improve the quality of complex coronary interventions and transcatheter structural interventions.

    They will also be responsible for providing Cardiology services at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at New Brunswick, which may include: transcatheter interventional procedures, structural interventions, diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization, out-patient clinic services, and other interventional procedures.

    The Department of Medicine at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School is comprised of approximately 150 paid and more than 300 volunteer faculty members organized into 11 divisions covering the major medical subspecialties: Allergy, Immunology and Infectious Diseases; Cardiovascular Diseases and Hypertension; Education; Endocrinology, Metabolism and Nutrition; Gastroenterology and Hepatology; General Internal Medicine; Hematology; Medical Oncology; Nephrology; Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine; and Rheumatology.
