CLINICAL OUTCOMES MANAGER manages the collection and analysis of clinical outcomes data to develop clinical process improvement initiatives. Oversees staff who gather data on performance metrics and facilitates the review of clinical program effectiveness. Being a CLINICAL OUTCOMES MANAGER provides advanced analyses and reports on clinical outcomes data. Evaluates and summarizes patient data to ensure that care is provided in accordance with clinical guidelines and organizational standards. Additionally, CLINICAL OUTCOMES MANAGER identifies areas for improvement and assists leaders/physicians in developing strategies to improve performance. Requires a bachelor's degree in nursing or healthcare related area. May require a Registered Nurse (RN) license. Typically reports to a director. The CLINICAL OUTCOMES MANAGER typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a CLINICAL OUTCOMES MANAGER typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Full-Time Evening Shift (11:30am-8:00pm)
    $15.00/hour to start
    Monday-Friday with an every other weekend rotation
    15% shift differential given for hours worked on evening, nights & weekends.

    Essential duties and responsibilities:

    • Separate specimens by level of priority before data entry.
    • Enter patient, client, physician information, specimen type and testing required into information system, if required.
    • Receive electronically transmitted specimen information and specimens for testing.
    • Prepare specimens for testing via centrifugation, separation and distribution.
    • Visually review all specimens for identification compliance and specimen integrity.
    • Troubleshoot orders and specimen issues working with ordering providers, bedside care givers and technical team as required.
    • Receive electronically transmitted specimen information and specimens for testing.
    • Load patient specimens onto laboratory instruments.
    • Assist with troubleshooting of the automation system in place, if needed.
    • Retrieve and prepare specimens for repeat or additional testing.
    • Assist with preparation and shipment for referral testing.
    • File, store and discard specimens as appropriate.
    • Process specimens received via packing lists from Sandridge and other hospital locations.
    • Comply with all departmental, company and regulatory policies and procedures.
    • Assist in staff training and orientation as needed.
    • Promote teamwork and a positive work environment.
    • Follow CompuNet’ s behavioral standards and demonstrate positive customer service principles to patients, customers and coworkers at all times.
    • Operate and maintain departmental equipment, including but not limited to the pneumatic tube station, centrifuges and printers.
    • All other duties as assigned.
    • Complete annual competency assessment requirements.

    Qualifications:

    • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
    • Prefer previous medical terminology experience and/or education.
    • Must successfully complete data entry assessment.
    • Must also demonstrate a strong history of dependability and customer service skills.

    Physical demands and work environment:

    • Work independently while processing an appropriate number of specimens per hour relative to experience.
    • Work in a high stress environment and handle stressful situations in a calm manner.
    • Must be professional and cooperative in all interactions both in person and on the telephone.
    • Majority of duties is routine and repetitive and requires compliance with very detailed procedures. Attention to detail and deadlines are critical to meeting performance standards.
    • Comprehension of verbal and written directions.
    • Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.
    • Ability bend frequently throughout the shift to retrieve specimens from the pneumatic tube station and from storage.
    • Concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted.

    Safety demands and requirements:

    • Will have exposure to biohazard substances and hazardous chemicals
    • Be familiar with and adhere to safety, ergonomic and health policies of the Company.
    • Comply with all PPE requirements when in the laboratory or other biohazard areas.
    • Complete required safety training and health evaluations in a timely manner.
    • Anticipate safety hazards, act upon unsafe situations and promote safety awareness.
