Clinical Pharmacist directs and develops research of existing and new prescription drugs and conducts utilization reviews to develop guidelines for usage, prior authorization, and updates to formulary. Monitors patient data on drug therapies outcomes, reactions, and errors. Being a Clinical Pharmacist provides education and outreach to medical staff on prescribing guidelines, alternative drug therapies, and risk mitigation. Administers a prior authorization program. Additionally, Clinical Pharmacist requires a doctorate degree in pharmacy (Pharm.D.). Typically reports to a manager or supervisor. Requires Registered Pharmacist (RPh).   • Provide clinical pharmacist services for Trios Health Southridge hospital. Utilize computerized resources to ensure safe and effective drug utilization. Collaborate with other clinicians, such as nurses, physicians, and allied health professionals on a daily basis.  Verify orders and writes orders based on established protocols. Provide consultation and patient education. Coordinate and closely review activities of pharmacy technicians to ensure efficient operations in accordance with federal and state regulations and hospital policies and procedures. A critical attribute required of this position is exceptional interpersonal customer services consisting of an outgoing positive attitude, warm friendly joyful demeanor, and the utmost care and reverence for our guests, patients, families, customers and colleagues.

     

    EDUCATION

     

    1. Education: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctorate in Pharmacy required.
    2. Population Specifics: Knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the ages of patients served in Pharmacy
    3. Experience: Minimum of two (2) years recent hospital pharmacy experience preferred, new graduates welcome. Keyboarding skills preferred.
    4. Required License: Must have/obtain a current Washington State Pharmacist License or license eligible. 
    5. Other: Bilingual and/or English-Spanish speaking preferred. Ability to read, write and speak English fluently. Ability to work with culturally diverse population.

    Wage Scale:

    $51.69 - $73.44
