Virginia MetalFab is looking for motivated and energetic individuals to fill the role of Programmer.
WHO YOU ARE IN THIS ROLE
As a Programmer, you will be a part of an AWESOME office team and will work from complicated component drawings, and/or verbal instructions to produce parts that meet specifications as well as measure and inspect parts to verify that they are acceptable. The Nesting Programmer must possess practical metal cutting knowledge to make sound decisions in fabricating parts.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: HS or GED
Experience: 4 years of laser programming, 4 years Sigma Nest Software, related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to set up machinery, have good math skills, and ability to work from blueprints.
Computer Skills: MS Suite, basic computer skills, Sigmanest Software.
Certifications & Licenses:
Other Requirements: Must have a full understanding of print reading and geometric tolerances. Must be able to properly use measuring tools (tape measure, micrometer, angle finder, etc.). MUST BE ABLE TO WEAR PPE SUCH AS STEEL TOE BOOTS, GOGGLES ETC.
Physical Demands
Lift/carry - Up to and including 51-100 lb frequently.
Push/pull - Up to 41-100 lb frequently.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Exposure to Chemicals – acetone, gasoline, purple powder, etching.
Exposure to outside elements and working in a non-climate controlled environment.
