  • Job Summary

    Responsible for creating programs for lasers, turrets, punch/laser combination machines and press brakes. This will be accomplished by using both 3D & 2D CAD and CAM software.

    Essential functions

    • SolidWorks proficient. Must be proficient in using the latest version of SolidWorks and have a familiarity with the sheet metal portion of the software.
    • Must be familiar with using 2D CAD software.
    • Responsible for programming new incoming work.
    • Responsible for making revision changes to models and machine programs.
    • Must be able to work with existing 3D customer models, as well as create new 3D models.
    • Use the appropriate CAM software to develop programs for lasers, turrets, punch laser combination machines, and press brakes.
    • Understand and assist with design of special tools needed for fabrication.
    • Design and develop fixtures for in house requirements.
    • Design and develop manufacturing prints which will be used for fabrication.
    • Understand how to work within a server-based file management system.
    • Must have strong manufacturing print reading skills.
    • Must have the ability to engage on the manufacturing floor to assist with issues and solve problems as needed.
    • Other duties may be assigned.

    Education and/or Work Experience:

    High School Diploma or GED with four years related experience and/or training; or GED with two years related experience in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Computer Skills:

    • SolidWorks 2024
    • Proficient in 2D CAD software
    • Ability to learn 2D and 3D CAM software.
    • Understand electronic file management.
    • Strong ability to use and communicate using email.
    • Strong knowledge in spreadsheet and word processing software
    • Basic experience in manufacturing software

    Mathematical Skills:

    • Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals)

    Reasoning Ability:

    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
    • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables.
