Clinical Research Director directs and oversees the clinical research function for a healthcare organization. Develops research studies and creates standards and guidelines for clinical research services and programs. Being a Clinical Research Director ensures adherence to standard operating procedures, good clinical practice and FDA regulations. Requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Clinical Research Director typically reports to top management. The Clinical Research Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.     Reports To: Vice President of Technology
    Full/Part Time: Full Time

    POSITION SUMMARY

    Provides leadership and performs all necessary functions related to the interpretation and use of
    institutional data. Facilitates access to information maintained in the university's
    administrative/student information system to support university operations and monitor key
    institutional indicators, ensuring the integrity of data/information released in reports or studies, and
    providing data analysis, reporting, or research as needed to support institutional objectives.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Includes the following and other duties may be assigned.

    • Prepare and submit mandated University, State and Federal reports related to
    enrollment, finance, athletics, and financial aid; Institutional liaison/reporter for
    IPEDS, NCAA, AICUP, Dept. of Ed., MSCHE and other external agencies.
    • Provide weekly enrollment reports Including trend analysis for various colleges
    and academic departments within the university.
    • Must know all the "ins-and-outs" of the institution to produce accurate, reliable,
    relevant, and quality reports, querying the pertinent data and summarizing it concisely
    in a usable format.
    • Work to enhance effective data/Information flow while partnering with other
    administrative offices, faculty, and staff, with the goal of enhancing data integrity university
    wide.
    • Monitors the overall integrity of data, complying with state and federal requirements and
    taking appropriate steps to correct data discrepancies when noted.
    • Ability and willingness to function as a team member and work cooperatively with diverse
    constituencies within and external to the university; assist academic and administrative
    offices with developing tools to facilitate and enhance reporting.
    • Train Colleague end-users with reporting, data gathering, and general functions related to
    their duties.

    • Respond to multiple, varied, ad-hoc requests for institutional data from faculty, staff,
    students, and administrative offices.
    • Manage and archive official institutional data.
    • Maintain a comprehensive working knowledge of external agencies and the impact of their

    unique and changing requirements on the institution.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    Bachelor's degree in computer science, data processing1 research methods, or related field
    preferred. Three to five years of related research and/or analysis experience, or combination of
    education and experience commensurate with the requirements of this position

    SKILLS AND ABILITIES


    • Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports and correspondence, and
    communicate effectively on the interpersonal level.
    • Experience using database software, mainframe applications, and/or statistical software.
    • Experience with higher education administrative/student information systems.
    • Utmost accuracy is required; needs effective organizational skills, as well as the ability to

    work independently, attend to multiple projects simultaneously and meet multiple internal
    and external deadlines.

    WORKING CONDITIIONS

    Work environment includes typical computer related noise levels and paper and equipment
    generated dust. Exposure to video display terminals occurs on a regular basis. Learned physical skill
    is required for keyboarding and use of peripheral equipment. Moderate lifting occasionally occurs.

    The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
