Clinical Research Manager manages the clinical monitoring process and the administration of clinical trials. Supervises CRAs in in-house and on-site monitoring, filing, and clinical trial administration. Being a Clinical Research Manager oversees adherence to SOPs, Good Clinical Practice and FDA regulations. Helps with the development and implementation of clinical processes, procedures, and programs. Additionally, Clinical Research Manager may require a master's degree in nursing. May require ACRP or SOCRA Clinical Research Professional exam completion. Typically reports to a director. The Clinical Research Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Clinical Research Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Position Snapshot

    • Wage based on experience ($21.00 - $25.00 per hour)
    • Onsite
    • We would need availability from 8a-4:30p but there is potential for earlier start times at either 5am, 6am, or 7am as well, so having flexibility is a must.

    Job Summary:

    Performs a variety of tasks associated with clinical study activities which are integral to the successful conduct of research studies. Handles in-bound and out-bound telephone calls with study site personnel and/or potential study subjects or enrolled subjects. Staff must screen potential subjects via telephone to determine study qualification per study protocol requirements and schedule screening appointments. Staff must perform a variety of duties including study screening check-in, in house stays, OPVs and other study related activity as needed.

    Lead Subject Recruiter will perform all of the same duties and responsibilities of Recruitment staff, with a primary focus on study set-up as it relates to recruitment of subjects and telephone screening of these potential study subjects.  Additional skills relevant to this position are an ability to exhibit effective time management skills, ensure productivity with minimal supervision, display an ability to work independently and with great attention to detail, as well as a capacity to work appropriately and professionally with the Recruitment team.
     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Utilizes tools, processes, and training that enable Spaulding Clinical to develop effective strategies and tactics for subject recruitment and retention
    • Handles study related in-bound and out-bound telephone calls with potential study subjects and responds to inquiries relating to advertising, referrals and research studies.
    • Utilizes study specific screening scripts to actively recruit and screen potential study participants in accordance with each protocol. 
    • Reads protocols, consent forms and volunteer information sheets for a thorough understanding of the study drug and procedures.
    • Work with project management to ensure that all study-specific recruitment documents are accurate, of high quality, and ready for IRB submission by deadline.
    • Keeps abreast of SOPs, related FDA, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and ICH guidelines, state and national laws and ethical standards.
    • Proactively identifies project challenges, problems, and/or potential efficiencies and communicates these appropriately to the Manager of Subject Recruitment
    • Designs and maintains tools to ensure proper recruitment for research studies.
    • Maintain calm, professional atmosphere in department, leading by example.
    • Ensures that the Manager of Subject Recruitment is updated and escalates any issues that arise with urgency, if needed.  Communicates all other issues as warranted to the appropriate department. 
    • Ensure daily primary goals of Recruitment are met appropriately and that downtime is always filled with productive activities as assigned by Manager of Subject Recruitment.
    • Work professionally with colleagues to achieve departmental goals as delegated.
    • Maintain knowledge of company goals to assist all staff in the Recruitment Department in their development and engagement.
    • Accept accountability to help lead the team with the highest level of professionalism and communication strategies.
    • Able to demonstrate effective professionalism, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
    • Trains staff in processes and procedures as needed.
    • Other functions as directed and delegated.

    Education and Experience:

    • High School Diploma/Equivalent required.
    • 1-2 years of Subject Recruiter experience or similar role in healthcare/clinical research setting
    • Prior Call Center experience preferred.
