Clinical Research Manager manages the clinical monitoring process and the administration of clinical trials. Supervises CRAs in in-house and on-site monitoring, filing, and clinical trial administration. Being a Clinical Research Manager oversees adherence to SOPs, Good Clinical Practice and FDA regulations. Helps with the development and implementation of clinical processes, procedures, and programs. Additionally, Clinical Research Manager may require a master's degree in nursing. May require ACRP or SOCRA Clinical Research Professional exam completion. Typically reports to a director. The Clinical Research Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Clinical Research Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Position Overview
    Under the supervision of the Director, Clinical Research, the Financial Analyst:

    • Ensures that all charges for facility and professional fees arising from clinical study protocol visit items and services are consistently segregated and billed to the appropriate payer, submitted on correct claims with proper research codes, modifiers and NCT number, and properly reimbursed, avoiding denials and mitigating risks of double-billing to both a study sponsor and an insurer.
    • Routinely interact with study sponsors, several internal departments, and the study teams.
    • Generates and submits complete and accurate research related invoices to study sponsors; monitors and analyzes unresolved patient accounts; initiates contacts and appropriate resolution to ensure timely and maximum allowed payment.
    • Fosters a culture of research billing compliance and compliant research finance workflows in support of sustainable research at this institution.

    Bachelor’s degree preferred. Accounting experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree requirement.

    Two (2) to four (4) years accounting experience preferred.

    Physical Demands
    Work is moderately active: involves sitting with frequent requirements to move about the office, move about the facility, and to travel to another facility within the SRHS service area. Work involves exerting a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Work involves using repetitive motions: substantial movements of the wrists, hands and/or fingers while operating standard office equipment such as computer keyboard copier and 10- key.

    Work involves being able to perceive the nature of sound at normal speaking levels with or without correction; the ability to make fine discriminations in sound. Work requires close visual and acuity and the ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus, i.e. shift gaze from viewing a computer monitor to forms/printed material that are closer to compare data at close vision. Must be able to be active for extended periods of time without experiencing undue fatigue.

    Mental Demands
    Must demonstrate keen mental faculties/assessment and decision making abilities. Must demonstrate superior communication/speaking/enunciation skills to receive and give information in person and by telephone. Must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills. Must possess emotional stability conducive to dealing with high stress levels. Must demonstrate ability  to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

    Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in complex situations is required. Must have strong analytical and interpersonal skills. Must be able to understand the flow of financial and statistical information.

    Special Demands
    Must possess superior customer service skills and professional etiquette. Must possess proficient knowledge and ability to use a computer (must be keyboard proficient) and other office technology (i.e., telephone, fax, etc.). Must have working knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

    Job requires traveling throughout the SRHS service area – with the employee providing his/her own transportation. Must have a valid driver license.
