Cloud Systems Architect is responsible for the design and management of an organization's cloud systems, applications, policies, and strategy. Evaluates and identifies the best cloud solutions for the organization. Being a Cloud Systems Architect develops and modifies scalable architecture to support applications and infrastructure-as-a-service (IAAS) and platform-as-a-service (PAAS) platforms. Ensures the security and compliance of cloud environments, including data protection and privacy. Additionally, Cloud Systems Architect monitors and analyzes cloud infrastructure performance to identify and resolve issues proactively. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimize cloud-based environments for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness. Designs controls and processes that utilize available audit tools. Maintains up-to-date and extensive knowledge of cloud products and technology. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Cloud Systems Architect works autonomously. Goals are generally communicated in "solution" or project goal terms. May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization. Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge. BAE is looking for a full stack developer/front end/cloud developer. The successful candidate will focus on developing applications using modern programming languages such as Node.js, Google Go, or Python. They should have experience with both relational and non-relational databases, and demonstrate a strong understanding of microservices architecture, including the development and deployment of services in containerized environments using Kubernetes. This role requires a keen understanding of how to scale applications in a cloud-native environment, leveraging cloud services for optimal performance and efficiency. The role encompasses support through all phases of the software development lifecycle.
Due to a specific US Government contract, US Citizenship is required for this position.
Required Education, Experience, & SkillsThe Full Stack Developer candidate must possess the following qualifications and experience:
- Master's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
- A minimum of 6 years' experience in programming and software development across multiple layers of the software stack (UI, web services, microservices, databases).
- Proven experience in leading or advanced programming and software development, including analysis, design, development, implementation, testing, maintenance, quality assurance, troubleshooting, and/or upgrading of software systems.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and support enterprise applications while ensuring 24/7 availability.
- At least 6 years of experience in full-stack development, including proficiency in Node.js, Google Go, Python, or similar modern programming languages.
- Strong expertise in working with both relational (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and non-relational databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
- Solid understanding of microservices architecture, including the development, deployment, and scaling of services in containerized environments using Kubernetes.
- Demonstrated experience in developing, deploying, and scaling applications in cloud environments.
- Familiarity with Test-Driven Development (TDD) methodologies and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.
- Experience in ensuring high availability and reliability of enterprise applications.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills- Proficiency in using project management, documentation, and source control tools.
- Familiarity with cloud-native technologies and services beyond Kubernetes, such as service meshes (e.g., Istio, Linkerd), serverless frameworks, and cloud-specific resource management.
- Expertise in implementing security best practices in application development and deployment, particularly in environments with stringent compliance requirements.
- Knowledge in utilizing observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack) for monitoring and troubleshooting applications.
- Experience with agile development methodologies and the ability to work in fast-paced, iterative development environments.
- Previous experience working within cross-functional development teams, demonstrating excellent collaboration and communication skills.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $112420 - $191070
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
