Cloud Systems Architect is responsible for the design and management of an organization's cloud systems, applications, policies, and strategy. Evaluates and identifies the best cloud solutions for the organization. Being a Cloud Systems Architect develops and modifies scalable architecture to support applications and infrastructure-as-a-service (IAAS) and platform-as-a-service (PAAS) platforms. Ensures the security and compliance of cloud environments, including data protection and privacy. Additionally, Cloud Systems Architect monitors and analyzes cloud infrastructure performance to identify and resolve issues proactively. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimize cloud-based environments for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness. Designs controls and processes that utilize available audit tools. Maintains up-to-date and extensive knowledge of cloud products and technology. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Cloud Systems Architect works autonomously. Goals are generally communicated in "solution" or project goal terms. May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization. Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge. Qualifications Required: * Must have an active Secret clearance to be considered * Bachelor's degree required in either Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, Operations Research, Mathematics, Physics from an accredited college or university. * Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future * At least five (5) years' experience in cloud engineering * Experience with designing, developing, deploying, or testing in cloud services from Amazon Web Services (AWS) and using tools, including EC2, S3, ELBs, RDS, VPCs, security groups, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, or IAM permissions and Azure. * Experience in developing infrastructure as code using scripts, templates, blueprints, workflows, and CI/CD orchestration automating most tasks to aid adoption at scale all the while maintaining consistency. * Experience with working with microservices and containerization, including orchestration, cluster management, and container storage, including Docker, Kubernetes, or Rancher. * Experience with deploying, configuring, and maintaining Windows/Linux server systems in the Cloud. For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in California, Colorado, Jersey City, Nevada, New York City, and Washington State, Deloitte is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to California and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $89,000 to $155,000. You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
