The Opportunity:

We are recruiting for a Small Business Specialist to join the Tax Department and provide secondary general support to the assurance team and administrative staff.

The position has a wide range of responsibilities, and the successful candidate will be detail and deadline oriented with an ongoing commitment to providing excellent client service.

A Closer Look At The Role:

• Support our small business clients year-round with the maintenance of their financial records using QuickBooks:
  • Review quarterly financial statements and make necessary adjusting entries
  • Fix common problems and errors in QuickBooks
  • Perform account reconciliations
  • Provide basic QuickBooks training and support
• Monthly, quarterly, and annual sales tax preparation
• Sales tax research
• Business tax support preparing trial balance through the recording of year-end adjusting entries and depreciation
• Individual tax preparation
• Assist with annual projects such as preparing 1099s, client electronic filings, and tax organizers
• Provide tax administrative support as needed

• Significant experience using QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online, ProAdvisor certification preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills dealing with others inside and outside the firm
• Flexible working style and an ability to work independently and collaborate as a team
• Comfort working with virtual tools video, phone, and chat
• Maintain confidentiality with appropriate application of discretion
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
• CCH Axcess Tax, ProSystem Engagement, Practice Management, and Fixed Assets CS a plus
• Associates degree in accounting minimum, bachelors degree in accounting or related field preferred
• 3 years in accounting, bookkeeping, or tax
