Coating, Painting, and Spraying Machine Operator jobs in Louisville, KY

MM Direct has immediate direct hire openings for Pickling & Coating Operators on 1st and 2nd shift. Hours are 8a-5p and 3p-1am. Pay is $17.50-$18.50 per hour. Must be able to work in a non-climate control warehouse environment. The Pickling & Coating Operator tends machine to wash/remove impurities from steel wire rod.

Essential Functions Statement

1. Operate and tends machine to wash remove impurities from the wire rod.
2. Add specified amounts of chemicals to equipment at required times to maintain solution levels concentrations.
3. Drain, clean, and additionally refill machine or tank at designated intervals using cleaning solutions or water.
4. Draw samples for laboratory analysis.
5. Test solutions for conformance to specifications, like acidity or specific gravity.
6. Perform the daily, weekly and monthly facility check.
7. Observe machine operations, gauges, and thermometers and adjust controls to maintain specified conditions.
8. Set controls to regulate temperature length of cycles and start conveyors, pumps, agitators, and other machines.
9. Record gauge readings, materials used, processing times and test results in production logs.
10. Adjust, clean and also lubricate mechanical parts or machines using hand tools and grease guns.
11.  Load products for processing and unloaded them after cleaning.
12. Be skilled in using measuring instruments (micrometer, vernier calipers etc.).

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• Language Skills – Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common industry, production and technical documents in English.
• Mathematical Skills – Ability to apply basic and some advanced mathematical concepts (Algebra)
• Detail Oriented – Ability to pay attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Reasoning Ability – Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Accountability – Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education:           High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience:          1-2 years of experience working in a steel industry or manufacturing environment, 

                     and pickling operator experience preferred.

Computer Skills:    Ability to learn computer skills. (MS Office & In-House software) 

Other Skills:         Good organizational, problem solving, and time management skills. Ability to work 

                     independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction. Must be able to multitask.

      Certifications & Licenses:  Forklift and Overhead Crane
