Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Coding Specialist to join our team. As a Coding Specialist, you will play a crucial role in accurately assigning medical codes to diagnoses and procedures for billing and reimbursement purposes. Your expertise in medical coding and knowledge of coding systems will ensure the integrity of our medical records and compliance with the medical insurance industry.

Duties:
- Assign appropriate medical codes to diagnoses, procedures, and services using ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS coding systems
- Review medical documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness for coding purposes
- Ensure compliance with coding guidelines, regulations, and policies
- Conduct regular audits to identify coding errors or discrepancies
- Assist with medical billing and collection processes as needed
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Previous experience in anesthesia and pain medicine coding a plus

Experience:
- Proven experience as a Coding Specialist or similar role in a medical office setting
- In-depth knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, AND HCPCS coding systems
- Familiarity with medical collection and billing processes
- Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and coding software
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
