ChristianaCare, the largest healthcare system in Delaware is searching for a dynamic Manager of Coding Compliance for our Medical Group Physician Optimization team. This highly experienced Manager will report to the Director of Coding and Compliance and work to develop a team of coders to support their service line. Work Schedule
- Monday - Friday: This is a hybrid role which requires being on-site at least once or twice a week.

Key Responsibilities
- Manages billing compliance education and auditing activities, providing guidance and training as needed to the Service Line providers and staff ensuring all coding/billing follow rules, regulations, and standards both on State and/or Federal levels. Individually and in group settings.
- Manage staff, providing guidance, motivation, and training to improve departmental productivity.
- Determine work priorities, provides direct supervision, giving clear and concise directives to maintain efficient coding operations.
- Provide education to new providers as part of onboarding and new provider follow-up audits.
- Develop clinical documentation content that is specialty specific, using clinical scenarios and examples.
- Establishes and maintains resource and coding reference materials and systems to aid the coding of diagnoses and procedures (ICD-10/ CPT, HCC, HPCS).
- Reviews and analyze data to optimize billing and coding opportunities.
- Remains current on all CMS and regulatory changes, updates, coding, and documentation requirements.
- Works with the Director to develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures for coding operations for The Medical Group.
- Works with the Director to provide reports and recommendations to the Vice President of Finance regarding provider performance metrics.
- Evaluates departmental coders on a regular basis to maintain coding accuracy rates.
- Performs related duties as required.
Position Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 5 years of professional fee coding experience required.
- 3 years of management experience preferred.
- College Degree preferred.
Special Requirements
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) completed through American Academy of Professional Coder preferred.
- Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA) completed through American Academy of Professional Coders preferred.
