Coil Winder/Taper/Finisher operates a machine that winds coils used in electrical equipment and instruments. Examines and tests coils. ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE:
Responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting automated equipment used in the production of coils, to maximize assembly efficiency and yields.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
A strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail is required combined with one to three years experience running automated assembly equipment. Associate must be experienced and trained with Hilite’s environmental aspects and impacts for the jobs they perform. Satisfactory completion of machine / process specific testing is required for this position.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain automated coil production equipment.
2. Insure proper inventory levels and flow, through assembly area.
3. Communicate with team members on all shifts regarding equipment up-time, yield,
quality issues, etc.
4. Maintain quality and maintenance documentation as required.
5. Ensure inventory system accuracy and success.
6. Count, move all scrap parts, and close M.O.s as needed.
7. Perform assembly system startups, shutdowns, and adjustments per written procedures on a daily basis.
8. Perform minor repair, and maintenance to assembly equipment per maintenance and operating manuals.
9. Maintain proper inventory levels at the assembly stations.
10. Operate equipment within the quality guidelines and the Hilite production systems.
11. Perform other related responsibilities as may be assigned or required.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
General production environment. Requires mostly standing and walking. Minimal fine handling and finger manipulation. The greatest hazard is noise pollution, everyone is required to wear hearing protection and safety glasses upon entering the floor. The chance of coming in contact with oils or other fluids is probable as they are used plant wide.
