What You’ll Do:
- Oversees basic accounting procedures including accounts receivable, accounts payable, timekeeping, purchasing and invoicing.
- Verifies, records and processes vendor invoice payments.
- Codes invoices, reconciles accounts and maintains vendor records.
- Creates purchase orders.
- Communicates with customers and addresses past due invoices.
- Identifies and implements improvements to existing processes and systems.
- Prepares bank deposits.
- Records general journal entries.
- Assists with the creation of monthly financial statements.
- Provides support during audits.
Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
- Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strives for continuous improvement and creative new solutions.
- Strong critical thinking and reasoning skills.
Nice to Haves:
- Knowledge of defense contracting
- Experience with Unanet ERP
Education/Credentials:
- Associate Degree in Accounting or Related Field
- US Citizenship is required for consideration, as this job requires a US government security clearance.
- Nice to have - Secret level clearance.
- Acceptable - No current clearance but eligibility to obtain
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position and work on a computer for prolonged periods
