We're looking for a dedicated Collections Specialist (known internally as Collector) to join our team in Langhorne, PA. The Collector is responsible for managing assigned accounts and proactively contacting customers to collect payments, ensuring positive relationships while settling accounts.
Essential Job Duties
- Follow up with delinquent accounts, meticulously recording information in the recordkeeping system
- Contact customers with past-due invoices via phone or email, maintaining positive relationships throughout the process
- Respond promptly to incoming emails/calls regarding invoices/billing
- Provide chargeback notices to agents listed on the account
- Provide aging reports to customers or agents
- Handle collection letters
Serve as a backup for Credit
- Create account codes and retrieve credit reports for credit applications
- Analyze the credit history of customers and review credit applications
- Perform credit checks and modify accounts as needed
- Update collector codes and emails in accounts
- Determine the creditworthiness of applicants by determining the risk involved by providing a credit limit to move loads for the customer
- Ensure that all approved applications comply with company criteria
- Respond to credit increases, new accounts and general inquiries using the Salesforce queue
- Mentor and train other department members
- Review contract requests and send them to the contracts team for review
- Process Certificate of Insurance requests and update the database
- Provide ACH and Banking details to customers through DocuSign
- Exercise discretion when communicating account information with individuals including agents, prospective customers, and potential new agents ensuring confidentiality
- Provide carrier packets and other key documents necessary to set up accounts with companies
- Complete customer forms for account set up and oversee the completion of Safety documents required by customers
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Some office experience
- Strong typing skills
- Effective negotiation skills
- Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations
- Analytical and detail-oriented, with top notch organization skills
- Collaborative team player
- Solid mathematical skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to read, speak, write, and understand English in a professional manner

- Experience in a professional office environment
