Lalor Family Dental is a growing, multi-office dental practice in the Greater Binghamton Area bringing over 50 years of experience in the dental field. We are looking for qualified individuals to join our rapidly growing team.
This role can be part-time or full-time and has flexible hours.
The Collections Specialist is responsible for:
-the collection of outstanding A/R amounts via telephone, letters, and statements for Vestal, Binghamton, Horseheads and Dinosaur Dental.
-billing and receiving payments for services provided by Lalor Dental
-including verification of invoice information, maintenance of third-party billing records, and resolution of a variety of problems
-following up on submitted claims and patient billing; resubmits claims or resolves problems
-follow up and resolve A/R problems
-answering in-bound billing phone calls
Requirements
· HS diploma or GED required.
· At least one year of dental or medical billing experience required.
· Knowledge of Medicaid and third-party insurance billing required.
· Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures.
· Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
· Must be a people person with a great attitude and attention to detail.
· Attire appropriate to position expected.
· Superior customer service skills required.
· Ability to read, write, sort and file accurately by alphabetical and/or numerical system.
· Strong organizational skills.
· Computer proficiency including e-mail, word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, and generating reports using standard software applications.
· Strong written and oral communication skills to interact with patients, vendors and co-workers in a professional and helpful manner in person or via phone or written correspondence.
· Maintains a positive attitude and professionalism under all circumstances.
· Maintains strict patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA.
