    Summary

    We are looking for a qualified candidate to join our Professional Billing Team! This candidate will ensure optimal reimbursement for provider billing on inpatient and outpatient accounts. Provides billing, timely follow-up, denial management and appeal functions for claims to government, worker's compensation, and commercial insurance. Interprets explanation of benefits. Acts as a liaison support between the Physician Business Services departments, third-party payers and other UCHealth departments. Position requires utilization of EPIC software application and external third-party payer websites to perform work processes. Experience in healthcare registration/billing/coding/hospital billing preferred but not required. This is 80% work from home, 20% on-site in office (Fort Collins).

    Job Duties
    • Assists walk-in patients with billing questions, update insurance information, initiate claims.
    • Contact patients with resolution of billing questions.
    • Document billing activities in patient records.
    • Assess and Analyze patient inquiries about their medical bills.
    • Ensure changes are updated and corrected claim is sent, when appropriate.
    • Escalates to coordinators for billing errors, contracts, missing authorizations, estimates, pricing.

    Requirements
    • High School Diploma or GED

    Preferred
    • 1 year related experience
    • Professional medical billing experience
    • Background of insurance benefit plans and registration, explanation of benefits, and denials management.
    • Work adequately with Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
    • Skill sets to include 10-key by touch, typing a minimum of 65 words per minute (WPM) and, basic skills in word processing and spreadsheet applications.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, analytical thinking, high level of computer accuracy, and organization and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to prioritize work activities and with minimal supervision, in an individual and team setting to meet department metrics.
    • Detail orented and well organized. Easily adapt to change.
    • Ability to utilize various software applications and information systems to perform work processes.

    The pay range for this position is: $19.67 - $25.57 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
